9. Design Tool Use & Build Responsibility
VanKit is a design tool intended to help you plan and visualise a van conversion. It is not a substitute for your own measurement, judgment, professional advice, or on-vehicle verification. You are solely responsible for your build.
By using the Services you acknowledge and agree that:
- The 3D model is a visual reference only. It is indicative, not dimensionally authoritative. Geometry, clearances, finishes, and textures shown on-screen may differ from the real-world vehicle or the exported files.
- The exported DXF (floor plan) is the authoritative source of dimensions.Where any DXF, PDF, cut list, or written specification differs from what is shown in the 3D preview or in this website’s UI, the DXF governs. You must inspect and verify the DXF dimensions against your physical vehicle before cutting, drilling, fabricating, or ordering material.
- You must physically verify every critical measurement (wheel arches, door apertures, window positions, floor width, wall curvature, fixings, service runs, ceiling height, etc.) against your own vehicle before committing material. Vehicle variants, model years, factory tolerances, and after-market modifications can all cause real-world dimensions to differ from the templates we supply.
- You are responsible for compliance. This includes (without limitation) road-traffic, habitation, gas, electrical, heating, ventilation, weight, payload, insurance, DVLA classification, and health and safety requirements applicable to you, your vehicle, and your jurisdiction.
- Calculations and sizing outputs (including but not limited to electrical, solar, battery, heating, cut lists, and cost estimates) are indicative. They rely on assumptions and user inputs that may not match your real installation. A qualified professional must sign off any safety-critical work (notably electrical and gas).
- We are not financially liable for your build. We will not reimburse, refund, or compensate you for wasted material, rework, labour, tooling, downtime, design changes, project delays, or any other direct or indirect costs arising from errors in the design, changes of mind, vehicle variation, measurement discrepancies, third-party supplier issues, or misuse of the Services.
- Design changes are your responsibility. Once you have exported files and begun fabrication, any subsequent revisions you make in the tool will require you to re-export and re-verify. We are not responsible for parts cut to an older revision of your design.
Van conversion involves power tools, mains and battery electricity, gas, combustion heating, structural modifications, and road-vehicle safety. You build at your own risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, YAKKT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, cost of materials, cost of rework or remanufacture, project delay, or personal injury arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services or any build undertaken based on them.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or in connection with the Services shall not exceed the total fees actually paid by you to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is the greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless YAKKT and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, any build you undertake using designs or files produced by the Services, or your violation of these Terms.
